For all those who prefer a cozy cross-country skiing tour over the alpine ski circus or even strap on the cross-country skis after a speedy descent, the Großarltal offers a 30 km long, perfectly groomed cross-country trail in the classic style and mostly also as a skating track. The trail leads from Großarl along the Ache river towards the south, overcomes a short steep section after about 5 km, and finally continues up to just before the town center of Hüttschlag. After about 400 m of walking, the trail continues past the popular "Aschaustüberl" and goes further into the picturesque and very snow-sure valley end to the National Park inn "Talwirt" with a large parking lot, the "Magic Forest" exhibition, and National Park information center.

Cross-Country Skiing Courses
There you'll not only learn the proper basic techniques, but you'll also have the chance to perfect your skills. Three-day courses with two lessons per day are recommended.
For course participants, using the cross-country ski trail is free for the duration of the course! Registration is also possible at Hotel Edelweiss and the Lackner Ski School!
